I have been thinking about this for a while now and would like to suggest a possible solution:

  1. Information about new apps: as @pnuu suggested in a comment: direct notifications. This would be an option in Store app Settings. If you don't enable it, nothing happens. If you enable it, you can choose to get direct notifications for new apps in the Store, with the possibility to limit notifications (all, only sailfish apps, only android apps and also by categories: e.g. only office, games and multimedia).

  2. Information about updated apps (not installed): e.g. you are informed about a new app, you install it, try it but you are not satisfied with something. You want to remove the app but would like to know when an update arrives (to try it again). The solution would be to have the possibility to mark the app as a "favourite" (in the Store). The rest is the same as in point 1: direct notifications (of course, also as an option in Store app Settings). If enabled, you would be informed about a new update for a "favourite" app (although it is not installed on your phone).
