I would gladly pledge to buy one if it didn't use an Intel chip. I loathe their corporate ethos and long history of anticompetitive practice. They're also one of the biggest inward investors in Israel, and frequently announce huge investments immediately after the outrages committed there. Also, their products simply aren't competitive with ARM. The only design wins they've had in the mobile space have been ones where the price for the chips was drastically slashed, to try to drive adoption ... can only assume that is the case here.

Seriously hope this is a one and done ... were the next phone to also use an Intel chip, that would mark the end of my interest in Jolla.

I would make a feature request for an ARM SoC - and there will be dozens of powerful tablet class A57s available by the time this ships - but assume the deal has already been done.
