I finally managed to get the file from the beach balling Mavericks Contacts application. I thought there was a problem with the phone disconnecting in Bluetooth, but it is just like that. You click on the device and there's a menu with a send file option (never did this before). I thought I would get some prompt in the phone to accept the file, but no. So I went to look in the notifications and there the file was, and clicking on it imported everything.

Now it is more important to have the Exchange directory search integrated for calling than implementing a 2-way sync application like BlackBerry Link, that can come second.
