Zoom buttons for maps, for one handed zooming. Hate pinch to zoom, impossible with one hand.

Think this proposal should be considered again

Yeah, that was one very clear advantage of Nokia maps over Google ones.

No need for zoom buttons, double tap with your thumb in the area you want to see and it zooms in bit by bit. To zoom right back out, a long press is needed. I personally see no need for buttons when tapping or holding does the same thing, just my opinion. :)

For one handed operation, the problem with long press to zoom out is that it also pans the map to your current position. Not ideal when browsing the map far from your current position.

It's a easy way to zoom in and out.Look forward to the buttons.

Doubble tapping and holding + swyping away from you or towards you is something working fine in Ingress game. What do you think of this gesture?

The modRana flexible navigation system supports volume button zooming when installed from OpenRepos. :)

The modRana version in OpenRepos unfortunately does not have this feature as the volume buttons API is still not cleared for usage by Harbour applications. But you vote for the corresponding issue, so that Jolla knows users want this functionality and so that modRana in Harbour can reach feature parity with the OpenRepos in the future. :)
