Therefor i´m confused by setting up the sounds by using settings > system > sounds and feedback. There is also a sound setting for each ambiance. I don´t want to setup each of my 10 ambiances manually if i want to change my ringtone. It would be great if there would be a bypass option in the ambiance settings > sounds - "use system default". So you have the choice and no more confusing

The Jolla concept of ambiance implies, in my view, that there is no such thing as default settings. Rather it is the individual user who has to decide which ambiance should be the default one and set it up accordingly.

For my part I would like to have a completely silent ambience (useful in important meetings, cinemas and theaters when you don’t want a forgotten or mistakenly started timer, calendar alarm etc. to go off). I consider it a bug that this is not possible.

The concept of ambiance also implies that if a user want to change the ringtone in all ambiances, it must be done in each.

evo3d should have formulated it as :

  • "Keep the sound unchanged" check box

or :

  • "Use the same sound setting as profile : XyZ" drop list

Actually, the totally silent ambiance (except vibration) worked in previous version of Sailfish.

One possibility is to give the user the option of declaring a certain ambiance as the Default one. Initially it could be the one which is delivered with Sailfish (the origami Crane) and further on the one which is so declared by the user.
