I connected to open WiFi in the cafeteria and was shown a login page in the browser. I started reading it, but half a second later the second tab with the same page was opened. And again. And again. I tried to get off the browser to Settings for disabling WiFi, but I was thrown back to browser all the time. It had 42 tabs opened when I finally was fast enough for disabling the Wi-Fi.

I don't know any details about that WiFi access point configuration, yet Jolla shouldn't let any configuration do anything similar.

Shall we go Apple way and show a special screen (kind'a a separate app screen) for WiFi login and make next login impossible if the old one is still in progress?

That Apple sandbox browser causes more problems than it solves - certain login processes in public hotspots fail just due to that concept ...

I had the exact same problem than you, it was very annoying : the phone unusable was just unusable. Please fix it, the way you want, but fix it!

This is a known issue with the multiple browser login screens. Jolla has been working on a fix, and will be released in a future update.
