I think swirl gesture implemented in N900 was great for zooming in/out in browser when using the device with one hand.

Swirl guesture would be perfect for using the device with a pen!

And for single hand usage (standing in a tram, etc.).

Unfortunately spiral zoom might have been patented by multiple companies. So its going to be quite unlikely feature.

@rainisto That is really unfortunate. There is a slight chance Jolla pays the patent fee, but as you said - "quite unlikely".

I've suggested that: https://together.jolla.com/question/9248/zoom-with-1-finger-1-hand-to-hold-and-do-the-gesture/ to serve the same purpose

Are any of those patents even applicable in the EU? I'm getting the impression almost everything in the mobile arena is already covered by some vague "on a mobile phone" software patent somewhere. :)

You ever tried double tap on the browser? It looks like that, with double tap , you can zoom in and out to the size of the frame inside the web page. It works fairly reliable, nevertheless it fails on some sites.
