Android apps not running because of rooted device? [duplicate]

I've been trying to run the UK Sky Go Android app (TV streaming) - it opens fine, I can log in fine, but when I try and stream, an error message appears stating “Sky Go is not supported on rooted Android devices".
Does Alien Dalvik mean the Jolla runs as a rooted Android device? Is there a way around this?
Also the new authentication app for Nodea Mobile Bank refuses to start up for the same reason.
