My phone started to be unresponsive and I got the ' Critical problem with the app registry' error. I tried to fix it with the sailfish utilities. After the required reboot I had lost all my data (accounts, contacts etc...). I rebooted the device a couple of times but it didn't fix the problems. All the apps are still working despite the data loss.

Before the app registry error I installed yandex via Jolla store (I hadn't used since the system update and didn't notice that for some reason it was missing.) After a while I couldn't launch the browser anymore and then I got the app registry error message.

I'm running the latest early access release of Björnträsket without any custom ui patches.

Update Tried btrfs balancing but it claims that I don't have any space left on device. After that I tried to delete some files with the rm command but it gave me the same error.

Here's the output from btrfs fi show

ERROR: unable get label Inappropriate ioctl for device
Label: 'sailfish' uuid: 0f8a2490-53ed-4ff6-ba34-b81df3430387

        devid 1 size 13.75GiB used 13.67GiB path /dev/mmcblk0p28

Btrfs v3.16

I'm guessing there's something wrong with the filesystem.

Did you try to do btrfs balance start -dusage=0 / first? And then increasing the value of -dusage 5% at a time: btrfs balance start -dusage=5 / etc? With my phone it helped when I first did that. See also this: https://together.jolla.com/question/105346/problem-with-btrfs-allocation-filesystem-full-and-jolla-account-sign-in/ might be related or at least help with your situation?

before starting a balance - check the freespace
btrfs fi show
without freespace, the balance will do nothing

Yes, I tried with -dusage=0 but it relocated nothing. Anything higher than 0 returns the disk full error.

as already mentioned, move some files to sdcard or delete them, if necessary and restart with -dusage=5 and -musage=5

Moving or deleting files doesn't help. I still get the same disk space error. I've deleted everything I can.

Are you able to check where the big files are located? In setting menu in about phone there is an entry if you push the memory circle. I got a similar probem, there was a dummy file in android thumbfiles, maybe check baxk if it's the same case for you. It's located in home/nemo/android_storage/DCIM/.thumbnails. Filebrowser showed file size 8Gb in my case, just delete it, maybe it may help...

I couldn't mount android storage due to low disk space. I had to do a factory reset to make the phone work.

the mentioned thumbnail file has 2 gb on my phone any idea what this is good for?

I just deleted it, it's an android big. I found it in another discussion and they discribed that you have to delete the file and create a new folder with the same name, so the file won't rebuilt. Like I understood it, it's kind of an index file with thumbnails but system rebuilts the needed one... I got no impact on phone use.
