Hej hej sailors,

I was attempting to bring order into my settings and completely removed and reinstalled Patchmanager and some patches. After the restart, my phone stops at the point where I would be asked for my security code, but nothing except my background picture is shown - no buttons, not digits, no text. The only action that I can perform then is swiping down to get the black lockscreen (or simply press power button), and upon pressing the power button again (or double tapping) I return to the aforementioned screen. No other swipe action is successful, nothing happens although the screen seems responsive. Do I have to try a factory reset now to un-brick my precious? :O

Cheers

Edit: I'm using the latest Björnträsket Firmware, early adopters

try to establish a ssh connection and try pkcon install lipstick-jolla-home-qt5 with devel-su

USB ssh will not answer (as it is blocked on locked devices as a security measure) Maybe the wlan works.

Unless you can ssh into the device to fix the things (like wlan automaticly connecting to local lan and you remembering ssh password) then your only option is the factory reset.

EDIT: Ah yes. with recovery-menu shell, you can mount the root directory and reverse apply the patches and/or copy the original qml files back to the device.

I am able to enter recovery menu via telnet/putty. Does that help?

@rainisto: I don't think he forgot his lockcode - at least I can't see that from the OP. It's s just not possible for him to actually enter any lockcode...

Damn... I wasn't able to restore the original qml files, so I gave up and reset the phone, build everything from scratch. That resulted in a rather nasty loss of Whatsup (which isn't supported anymore as it seems), which (to make things worse) even couldn't be replaced by Mitakuuluu or Android Whatsapp as both cannot be verified u_u

With that ruined week I'm trying to get my mood back up someday, but it seems that I'll be much more hesistant to try new apps from now on. Still many thanks, and may you be unaffected by such maladies.

Cheers

You don't need to restore original files yourself, you need to mount partition and run patch reverse command, it will return files to original state.

Yes, I know...now. Too late for my phone... Positive side: I installed everything I needed (and only what I REALLY needed) orderly and clean, tidied up repos and applications - even managed to reactivate Whatsapp ((unfortunately only Android, I so hope for Mitakuuluu to easily surpass WA... I used it until I was banned, now M3 wasn't able to become verified ;_;)

M3 have option to import android whatsapp account on registration

Hej Coderus,

though it might be a bit off topic - thank you ^^ I switched back to Mitakuuluu (3 this time), and with your suggestion it works like charm ;) (only waiting patiently for settings and media).

I've experienced exactly the same behaviour after unapplying the show calendar events on lockscreen patch before an attempted upgrade. This one:

https://openrepos.net/content/anig/patch-calendar-events-lockscreen

Apparently one is supposed to disable this patch prior to unapplying the above one. This was not shown initially in the upgrade notice :-(

https://openrepos.net/content/ancelad/patch-add-battery-and-cellular-indicators-lockscreen

So how do I get out of this mess? :D

I've got SSH dev access through WLAN but currently am stuck looking for the command to reset only this patch without having to remove all the patches and find them on openrepos again :-/

Any idea?

Apparently this one did the trick for me:

Well if you've got SSH through WLAN you could try and check the lockscreen.qml file as described in the above posted link on TMO. It did the trick for me. I did not use any CLI commands as I'm too lazy to type - I used SFTP access that comes along the SSH access and opened my Jolla as root user in WinSCP on windows. Browsed to the mentioned folder and edited that file back to my working state.

Well, tried that and deleted the lines relevant for the patch I changed but to no avail and I find it a little risky to continue deleting lines I don't really know to what effect. I still hope there's a command to remove all patches ....
