Is there any possibility of a future update of Sailfish allowing Android keyboards to be used? This would be one way of addressing the lack of Swype, for example.

Imagine an Android app (a keyboard one in this case) with the capability of reading all the text input throughout the system... No, thank you. I'd rather leave Android where it's supposed to be - in its own closed shell.

I think this is sadly not the easiest. Not impossible, but the amount of kludging needed is a bit much currently. Maybe one day when there's multiwindow Android support.

I'm not suggesting it be compulsory, you know ...

I was actually positively suprised by the fact that the keyboard is the same everywhere. On the N9 Opera had it's own keyboard which was inconsistent. Please don't change it.

It isn't. e.g. the terminal keyboard is completely different. I wasn't suggesting different keyboards in different places. Just the ability to select Android keyboards in the same way we can already select an alternative language keyboard, or the Emoji keyboard
