[Bug] 1.1.9.28 Android notifications not working properly on mobile network

asked 2015-09-10 00:25:03 +0300

Notifications from some apps, like Skype and Instagram, are not working properly even if the option to allow services in background is checked. Sometimes they're not generated, sometimes they are. And many times after connecting to wifi, I receive many notifications that I should've received when was connected to mobile network.

Whatsapp seems to be working better.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

PS: I don't have the "android notifications" installed anymore.

I can confirm of having the same bug. Just share my personal experience:

I have CODERUS's lovely Android notification app installed while upgrading to SFOS2.0, afterwards I uninstall notification app and realised all Android notifications stopped working. I installed again and trying via both whitelist and blacklist mode, not working. Uninstalled again and still no luck.

I am wondering is it just for me because I did not uninstall Android Notification BEFORE update and uninstalled afterwards, which causes the mess. Or it's simply a bug in SFOS2.0?

Any hint for solution will be highly appreciated. (Perhaps not a hard reset...)

I also noticed this bug.

Waxberry: notifications (kind of) work without CORERUS app. Just uninstall it and reboot.

@traysh Thanks but I have tried multiple time without Android Notification and it's NOT working. Hence I was wondering if it's a system bug.

@Waxberry Exactly. I tried to install the "Android Notifications" app, to uninstall it, to install it again, to reboot, not to reboot! haha Thank you @traysh , still not working 100%.

I think there was a thread somewhere here where someone running 1.1.9.27 was complaining it didn't work got a replay that he shouldn't use Android notification, I guess the current version ain't fully compatible with 1.1.9. I have had a lot of issues with notifications from android apps, sometimes they lit up the screen, but not always, no sound nor led indication and not even in the new event view any sign of the android event. I miss quite many messages from people which from time to time would have required a fast reply. Things used to work okey in the early SFOS versions, but the 1.1.4+ just seems to not work, maybe it's a result of people leaving the boat?

It seem to be the problem to the users who previously installed Android Notification. I'm going to perform a hard reset...
