When unlocking (code-locked) SFOS 2.0 I currently have two possibilities: left edge swipe or right edge swipe. Why do both actions open the home screen? As I can enable left edge swipe to always open the events view I'd expect to get there directly on unlocking the phone by left edge swipe and going to home screen only with right edge swipe.

I could even imagine a third swipe gesture to unlock the (code-locked) phone: bottom edge swipe. I'd expect to directly open the app drawer by this action after entering the security code. Is this possible?

Ok, after the edit of the answer by Mr. Pancake I will accept that answer. He's right that maybe too many possible unlock-interactions may cause an unlock by accident. Didn't think about that. But if the unlock gestures were fully configurable maybe we could have all three options. I'll see that as an own "answer" to my question...

This is somehow possible with a patch. It's not perfect at the moment, because it shows the list of installed apps; however, disables edit mode. I hope I can change it in future so that the lock code will be asked before opening the launcher.

Your patch is very nice. Don't change it to need a lock code before opening the launcher. The lock-Code is requested before the app is opened. That's sufficient for me. As for the addressed privacy issues: if you want to improve your patch, you could offer (if possible) a configurable mask for apps one doesn't want to see without entering lock-code.

Please read the post about the update you're installing, especially since you're an opt-in user. It's the first clause under 'Known Issues'.

EDIT: Well, as things are clearer right now, I see this as a feature. Trying to understand the logic behind this implementation hints to the fact that this is, as you pointed out, in fact a 'Lock Screen', so therefore there should be a minimal possible chance of things happening by accident, shall your phone unlock the screen in your pocket (do notifications wake the phone while the proximity sensor is covered?). There are gestures that will confirm you trying to unlock the phone on your own (side swipes). In spite of this I see no app drawer available on the lock screen.

Although I see a valid point in this suggestion, this is unlikely to happen, in my opinion (don't forget about the Tablet), so you're better with a community patch.

Lol, did you test a little the release you've just installed? A bottom edge swipe from lock screen already open the app drawer. So no, the second part of your question is also not valid.

Show me in a video. ;-) I tested a lot. If the phone is locked I can only swipe left or right. On home screen it is as you described. Or did you install the patch from openrepos?

Ok. Tested it again. I think we have a misunderstanding here. I ment a really locked phone (i.e. you have to enter security code to access). Left and right is possible and both actions show unlock keypad and afterwards open home screen (know issue that left is not events view). Well, bottom-up swipe does not work. If phone is just not really locked but on lockscreen a bottom edge swipe does work you're right. As I always fully lock my device I did not test that. I'd expect to get the keypad enter code and then have the app drawer accessible.
