By design changes at SailfishOS2 there is no way to come back to our lockscreen an there faststart pulley menu. Now we stay at homescreen and there is no pulley menu. For example, i use this pulley to trigger BT on / off. Now i have to swipe down, tap on lock, dopple tab to unlock and swipe down to trigger bt on. Quite complicated, isn´t it? Before it was easier: swipe to lockscreen and pull down.

Please implement that the lockscreen pulley is also available at homescreen. At moment it feels like a hole and a designfault..

I think it woult be consistently UI experience if there were a pulley at homescreen

edit: i also use this for fast access to tweetian, camera...

I don't get what the possible use case of this could even be anymore, now that you can start apps from anywhere by opening the app list with a swipe from the bottom edge.

same case as start from lockscreen, that is now unreachable. Btw i have more than 80 installed Apps in different folders organized. Trust me I have a case of use! BT on / off for example trigger BT on for 2 min, if no connection it turns off

I agree fully, it's now just frustrating experience to hunt settings symbol from app draver just to toggle e g wlan on/off which was nicely implemented by pulley menu on fast acesss "lock screen" e.g top most view of home screen in the SFOS 1.0 UI.

Yes, we used this to turn on/off the internet connection since we are on a tight data plan. The way it's now is really a bit tiresome hunting for the settingsmenu ten times a day....

Yeah, totally agree. UI design should always strive to enable the user to access his preferred actions with the minimal amount of steps (clicks/swipes), the covers aren't as important as BT or WiFi on/off, Browser on/off etc. (the bottom 4 applications row was unfortunately also disabled).

I fully agree, since now it feels very inelastic on home screen not to have something to pull down there, too.

My suggestion would be to have an option to choose from what you want to pull down on home screen, e.g. good old lock screen pulley or the new short-cuts pull down menu on events view.

I was about to write my own answer about how you could have the shortcuts pull down menu from the events view in every caroussel view but then i saw your entry. +1

In the releasenotes it says, that you will be able to add Setting-Shortcuts to the Events-View with the next update. So with the next update for the Phone Your problem will be solved IMHO.

@evo3de Access to the App shortcuts that way is indeed a nice idea, so that it is also an valuable option for those who miss the top four Apps, at the bottom of the Apps view, from the older versions.

@tad Yes, as of the latest update. I did miss read that also before I took a closer look. But at the end of the paragraph "Release Highlights" later it says "The next OS upgrade" the first list entry says that it will come for the phone in the next update.

In th 1.0 UX, we could have these shortcuts with just one simple patch. And it worked excellent. So, no real upgrade is going to happen, just regaining some of the lost strength.

That's a very bad idea since it conflicts with pull-down-covers, which replace the bloody cover-buttons (which suck big time). Having the pulley available from eventsview (as proposed) is just fine IMHO!

What you refer to is a patch. Pulley covers aren't an official solution so an official pulley in home screen wouldn't conflict.

Btw doesn't scrolling in home screen conflict with pulley menu in covers already ?

Well, but since pulley covers are the virtually solely solution to somehow use SF2.0 with thick thumbs and of course with more then one cover action they will hopefully become official soon. Otherwise there would be two patches needed, one to add pulldown-covers and one to remove the interfering menu...

No need to remove scrolling on homescreen since cover actions don't interfere with it in general - pulley covers require a down pull, while scrolling goes the other way. It's only that the current implementation is unofficial and therefore homescreen scrolling while on covers doesn't work. When supported officially this issue could surely be solved.

Scrolling goes both ways, not just down (unless you're going to app drawer).

If we could get the old cover actions back, this wouldn't even be an issue.

You seem convinced that cover pulleys will be official in a later release. I'm not so certain.
