People app starting time takes longer then normal [answered]

Sometimes when I open the People app, it stays empty and loads for a couple of seconds. Not more then 10 seconds but still, it are seconds and it reminds me of the N9 tracker bug which also started like this.


At this moment I have 600+ contacts and they are a bit messy after the migration from a N900->N9->S2->Jolla so this could also be the problem for the people app and maybe the people app only needs some optimizing, the software is off course still beta. But it frightings me as it was a serious bug on the N9 and the Jolla also seems to have problems with a lot of contacts.

Are other people also experience this hick up and are ther solutions so it won't lead into future problems?

I'm using MfE, Facebook, Google and a normal mail account.

If I need to test or try something let me know.

I'm not experiening such issues, but I would like to have the option to add more than one mobile numbers to one contact. At the moment there is only the possibility to add one mobile, one privat, one fax, etc. Btw: the possibility to show more details is already there (saw it after importing).

First, let me reassure you that you won't experience the return of any N9 bugs, unless I manage to independently reinvent them. I don't think there is any shared code between the contacts implementation of Sailfish and Harmattan.

If the People app startup performance is varying significantly, I think it's most likely to do with contention in the device, for CPU and IO access. Accessing the contacts data is quite expensive, and we haven't been able to do a lot of work to prioritize the different apps, to give the best possible experience. We are certainly working to improve the situation, and if you have any input on what/how the device is doing when you experience poor performance, please contribute the data.

I do experience this lag in the People app from time to time. By pure coincidence, It just happened to me before reading this post and it took like 10 seconds as described by BonoNL I only had the Message & Phone app opened

By the way, I barely have any content on my phone. I have no music and no videos yet since I'm waiting for further updates. So only data on my phone so far are the contacts, few emails, few messages and 2 notes ;)

In my case I have 600+ contacts 140+ e-mails and 100 fotoos or something like that.

Mitäkuuluu running in background(this could be a problem maybe)? And Google, Twitter and Facebook contacts in the people app.

I was connected through WIFI.

I experienced the problem quite often lately.

I switched of Mitäkuuluu, deleted all of my e-mails on the device. Next step is to switch of all the social-media accounts.
