Stopwatch shouldn't let the screen go blank

I was planning to use the stopwatch to avoid going out of time during a presentation, but unfortunately the screen turns off as usual while the timer is running. This makes it quite useless for me because I cannot check the time while I am speaking. To see the time, I have to click on the power button and flick up to the home screen every time.

Is there an option to prevent the screen from turning off while the stopwatch is being used?

Personally, I just go to Settings->Display and turn "Sleep after" to 10 minutes. Depending on your presentation it may be not enough, but at least it makes the stopwatch somewhat usable.

You can install the "Stay awake" app from OpenRepos - it can prevent the device from turning off the display do to inactivity.

(It would be of course better if the stopwatch app itself could do this, but this work here and now...)

You could set your phone to keep display on while on charger, if you have charger available during presentation.

More portable solution would be using Cooktimer from openrepos. It seems quite versatile, and includes the option to keep display on!
