Can not download/install Jolla Maps since the Maps-update [answered]

Hi folks, I have a strange Problem with the Maps App. After the last OS Update I reinstalled Maps and then came out the new update to Maps version 1.1.0 Since the update message came I cannot download/install the update. I always receive the message Problem with the store while installing the app. Fixing the App-Registry with the Jolla Utilities and restarts didn't help other apps I can install/update via shop without problems. I deleted the previous version and now I can not even install it again.

What else can I try?

Maps 1.1.0 is probably too old so the system doesn't allow installing it.The correct version of Maps for the latest OS is 1.1.9.2-10.35.1.

but that's strange because the store app shows me only version 1.1.0 and why doesn't the error message talk about outdated version for example? Where can I see the current version in the shop?

I have the same problem. I couldn't update maps then i removed it to try to reinstall but it doesn't work. So now i can't install maps. When i try with terminal, this is what i get :

pkcon install sailfish-maps
Installing
Waiting in queue
Starting
Refreshing software list
Querying
Resolving dependencies
Fatal error: nothing provides qt5-plugin-geoservices-nokia >= 5.2.1+git8 needed by sailfish-maps-1.1.9.2-10.35.1.jolla.armv7hl

Any idea?

@PatsJolla, touch the three little dots at the right side of app details page in Jolla Shop and then scroll down to the start of the pictures. There should be text like:

Type Sailfish app
Version 1.1.9.2
Installed 1.1.9.2
Updated 14:01, 02/09/2015
Released 02:00, 11/11/2013

Strange for me it looks different:

Type Sailfish app
Version 1.1.0
Updated 13:01, 02.09.2015
Released 01:00, 11.11.13

The one hour difference I can imagine is timezone relevant but why doesnt my store app find the newer version?

Can I somehow reset the store db? or force a refresh?

Run "pkcon download /tmp sailfish-maps" and select "sailfish-maps-1.1.0-10.27.1.jolla.armv7hl" for Sailfish OS 1.1.7 Björnträsket. After that run "pkcon install-local /tmp/sailfish-maps-1.1.0-10.27.1.jolla.armv7hl.rpm". It should install it because that version supports the qt5-plugin-geoservices-nokia that you have already installed on your phone. Now check if Maps is working. Reboot phone so Jolla Store app discards it caches. Finally check if Jolla Store app is showing Maps app.

This is the help that solved the problem. After a restart of the phone the Maps are now also listed as installed within the store app. So we can close the thread.

Well that's not really my problem. I can perfectly see the Maps app in the store I could also see that there was an update available. But I can not download and install it... It starts and after a wile I get the error message and nothing has changed.

Can you install something else? I tried a random game - SailyFish (yeah, I know) and it installed fine. Also the Maps version for me is 1.1.9.2 both available and installed.

yes other apps I can install and even update without problems. Apps that I didn't have before and also others that I already had installed. Just with Jolla Maps I have this strange problem

That sounds weird, I did the following:

  • Removed Maps
  • Reboot
  • Installed Maps

And everything went ok.

Have you tried refreshing the app registry in the Utilities?

yes refreshing and several independent restarts.. nothing worked. should i try pkcon refresh or sth similar?
