Gstreamer is missing a plugin to play certain audio file types [answered]

I had installed the Ultimate Codec Pack from Warehouse and it worked fine in playing any kind of media including ogg (non-vorbis), ogx (received via SailorGram) and amr (received via Whatsup). But now, after upgrading to 1.1.9.28, it shows an error for a missing plugin.

Any idea, what causes the problem? Does the codec pack need an update (there's no updates in Warehouse)? On the new release changelog there are changes in gstreamer.

Edit: In 2.0.0.10 playback starts to work for ogg and ogx, but not yet for amr.

ogg vorbis audio files should still work, i have some on my device (without the ultimate codec pack).

GStreamer was updated to version 1.4 in 1.1.9.28. Therefor the old Codec Pack for GStreamer 0.10 won't work anymore.

This evening I managed to build the gstreamer 1.4.5 ugly plugins from source right on the Jolla itself. Was some small trouble before succeeding with some build dependencies and settings like the build prefix correctly to /usr/ instead or /usr/local.

Tested it with LLsVplayer and it works just fine. I have sound again in my movies and tv series.

BUT, I'd like to produce a binary rpm on openrepos, I do have an account there but haven't yet applied for a publisher role, I just might do that.

So, if anyone is interested I'd be glad to upload it to openrepos.

You can get this with gst-inspect-1.0 command from the gstreamer1.0-tools package

Apple lossless codec still does not work, although it should be supported by the ugly codec pack. :(
