caldav problem: won't sync [answered]

Hi,

Caldav syncs fine the very first time it is configured. From then on no syncing happens in either direction. I sync to/from an owncloud 7.0 server and configured Caldav to sync hourly. Would be great if someone has an idea.

Cheers!

There are a dozen of threads already discussing this topic.

On the other hand, I use OC811, works fine-ish. Just be sure you get the correct calendar URL from OwnCloud web interface. The paths can and will be tricky, been there...

I can confirm no problem with the sync and 1.1.9.28 with OwnCloud 8.x

@thesix if you can send me logs of the syncs, I can investigate and fix. Instructions to collect logs:

1) ensure that /etc/systemd/journald.conf has RateLimitBurst=5000 and RateLimitInterval=10s - if not, change those values and then reboot the device

2) restart the synchronization daemon with extra logging enabled:

 systemctl --user stop msyncd
 killall msyncd
 MSYNCD_LOGGING_LEVEL=8 devel-su -p msyncd

3) leave that terminal running, and open a new ssh terminal to collect logs:

 devel-su journalctl -af | grep caldav

4) trigger sync by Settings|Accounts->Longpress CalDAV->Sync.

The second (journalctl log) terminal should fill with debug logging. Please send those logs to chris dot adams at jolla dot com and I will investigate.

Cheers, Chris.

Got sync working with @chris.adams help. Apparently one of my calendars had too many entries so sync just gave up/never finished. Removing this from the list of calendars solved the problem.

Cheers,
