On POP3 there is no movement to trash on the server, the movement is on the jolla phone.

Deleting files should delete them from the server. Some services do only provide POP3 as protocol, like gmx, if you have a free account.

So now needed to delete, then the mails still exist and got downloaded on my Desktop again, then need to delete them from the jolla trash folder. If I choose delete on POP3 their need to be at least deleted from the server.

Which version are you on?

I'm on 1.1.7.28 and if I delete the email, then delete it from trash, then update, it gets deleted from the server. If you need an option to automatically delete from the server there's a Q linked from the above linked Q to vote for to get that option added.

Sorry, but for me it is essential to not delete server side by default, and, if possible, have the option to delete on server when locally deleted.

I have various equipment connected to the same POP account, and very clearly wouldn't accept the Jolla device to empty the pop3 server each time I download the mail on it…

I'm not sure I have to downvote here (I didn't do it) but definitely a POP-killer Jolla would be terrible for me

I agree witg @Herve5. I think it's quite handy to be able to check my mail on the phine, then download and back up messages on my laptop.

It is still possible to receive the mails on different devices, they only should get deleted, if you choose to delete them. Because otherwise you need to delete again on the next device.
