Hi!

I am trying out this new GUI right now. What I would like to have is a big clock when I swipe from left or right edge in an opened app, which leads to the home screen, but it can be cancelled as before. I use this feature to check the time.

But the clock is now tiny.

I would suggest a feature to show a big clock during swipe, but "minimise" it when the swipe is released. This way only checking time will be perfect. Thank You.

Please vote up is You agree to get attention. Thanks.

EDIT by gabriel: replaced swipe with peek in title to enhance question/search. EDIT2 by gabriel: ...and because I gave up my slightly better question for this one, I guess I get the right to write here that all the status bar should be more prominent, not just the clock :-)

I commented almost the same in Jaakko Roppola's blog and his answer was:

[…] I'm told it's too risky to offer anything outside iOS, Android and WP status area appearances. As in "if it's not broken, don't fix it." […]

SFOS 1.x was designed in a (beautiful) logic of its own, that's why it seems so coherent; uncluttered lock screen, vertical workflow, big clock at the bottom, etc., they all seem to integrate so well with each other.

now, as SFOS 2.x is an effort to please potential customers coming from Android or iOS, well-known concepts of those are being imported into SFOS and that's why to a lot of us those concepts seem so disruptive to us, as they are coming from an own (imo ugly) logic that doesn't really fit.

The tiny top bar is a good example for this. The big clock and other indicators just used to be a part of the whole space continuum reaching from lock screen to apps which was revealed when peeking from within an app. If you want to kinda have this nice peeking experience back, you have to work around the twisted iOS/Android logics that were introduced, which is unfortunately not as elegant as the whole SFOS 1.x concept was.

As a workaround, you can use a patch to have a bigger clock all the time.
