I must tell reading all the complains before I was expecting much worst than the experience actually trying the new 2.0 GUI.

In most changed swipe feature I see why it was changed or passed by (cover actions). It is actually very hard to put everything together on a two dimensional display. I find the visuals harmonized. I like the new look, and I like that it is brand NEW!

So take this as an encouragement Jolla team, I and everyone who vote this like it!

Dude I was actually planning to make exactly this post right now, a couple minutes more and there would be two «SFOS2 rocks!» posts in a row.

So many of my complaints were finally addressed that a couple of drawbacks (like those flickering pulleys) are just not worth mentioning.

Totally agree too.

To everyone moaning about "I was used to the old ways and now it changed" - that is the same argument you used against users coming to Sailfish from other OSes. You have become the very thing you hate.

@pichlo: there's a difference in coming from another platform, where you can expect a different behavior, or changes done in an iteration on one platform, where you can expect small changes for each step. For example, didn't Microsoft get flamed for "removing" start button on windows 8? A small change in UI (the functionallity was still there, but no button), but a huge change in UX. Users don't respond well to such changes. But if you went from Microsoft Windows to OSX you wouldn't be surprised that there was no start button.

Sure, we all have our own excuses for resisting the change. But change will happen, whether you like it or not. Embrace change or die.

What matters is the overall UX and despite a few small regressions that I am sure will get sorted out in future updates, the 2.0 UX is much better than 1.0.

At first i liked it too (design is looking great), but after some days i noticed that there are now so many regresses in UI. The fast handling as it was is gone atm. I hope they will (re)improve it...My excitement for Sailfish is atm not present
