I'd really like to set diffrent ambiences for homescreen and lockscreen, I think this would bring some advantages. Besides the fact that every other phone can have a diffrent lockscreen wallpaper it'd be nice to have for example louder ringtones when the device is locked because then chances are high it's in the pocket and can't be heard that good.

As each image represents a setting it will strangely confuse to have two different backgrounds. For sounds, I agree that maybe a balanced bias would come handy but otoh notification sounds should be simple beeps already, at least if you have the app open in the very same moment.

The first thing I did after the update was deleting all default ambiances and create my own ones, because to me they're not much more than wallpapers, they have absolutely no settings in them except for the wallpaper and the color. If it'd be possible to set different ambiences I'd set a louder ringtone volume for the lockscreen and a less loud one for homescreen, but the ringtones stay the ones I configured in the settings app. To me the general behavior of one systemwide ambiance kinda destroys the ability of wallpapers to express my individuality. I simply want another wallpaper on my lockscreen because it isn't the screen I can do anything on and I want to see something different then.

As I barely see my wallpaper on an unlocked device, I choose what I want to see on lock-screen as BG. Just like you I use dummy wallpaper ambiences as there are still actions missing that make the whole settings thing cool. OTOH I use dummy-image-ambiences to apply different settings. As it is now very quick and convenient to change ambiences and it is on the previous lock-device-gesture you could actually change forth and back within a second. Sure it is an effort to do so but be realistic, if Jolla implements different locked/unlocked ambiences (would be nice though) it would be the only OS I know off doing that, which then again be unlike and very confusing to new users, so as we are now rolling into cyber-waters (becoming android like) I highly doubt that any sort of further clustering will get into SFOS any time soon.

jolla words "we are different" ;-) so why not if it is the only one os which do it? if it doesn't bring some inconsistency or instability. i'm for it
