Original title: Mobile connection type (2G/3G/4G) not shown in 1.1.9

The mobile connection type (2G/3G/4G) isn't shown in the new status bar introduced in Sailfish 1.1.9.

EDIT: The connection type came back after a reboot, so probably there is a glitch somewhere rather than a "redesign".

EDIT2: I just realised that the mobile data connection was totally gone when the (4G) symbol didn't show. The reason I started to look into this in the first place was that I couldn't download MMS anymore, and the mms-engine log contained GDBus.Error:org.ofono.Error.NotAttached: GPRS is not attached. Forcing 3G or 2G in the settings didn't help, but I couldn't see the actual connection type used since the symbol was missing (which lead me to write this question). I also remember that I didn't get any notification that the "network is connected" when I turned off wifi, something that seemed to get back to normal after the reboot.

Mine clearly shows 4G... Post a screenshot?

Screenshot added. Another strange thing about the status bar I saw now is that the battery symbol indicates charging even if the phone is not charging.

I have the same problem, since last night no mobile data connection can be made. I do see the 3G symbol but there is no connection. I tried rwstarting etc, but nothing helps. I did the last update a few days before and at first everything was fine. I didn't change anything since then.

I see similar issues, mobile data is not available in the settings. this seems to be a issues with switching between connections. The is at that moment mobile data available. Tested with another jolla phone where Wifi is disabled. The only option is to restart network in the utilities or through a restart of the phone.

@luen Did you find a solution for this problem?

The mobile connection type is not shown if mobile data connection is not available (eg. data roaming is not allowed when roaming).

Yep. So the real problem is that the connection died (as mentioned in the edited question). Should I update the title?

@luen also you should tag it as bug
