Full NFC support

I know that TOH 'owns' the nfc interface. I really miss the power of full nfc support, like tipping the phone at a nfc tag will connect the cell with the local wlan and bluetooth speakers, start the mpc client and play the music playlist.

Technically, I am not sure if TOH NCF features means no other NFC tasks can be handled?

the current problem seems to be the micro-switch (which triggers the activation of the NFC chip)

if this behavior could be switched to N9 style (active when display on) it should work, as some reported that they could read NFC tags. as the initial state of the NFC chip was always on, and changed by a software update, it should be possible, but i have no clue of how much of the signal is blocked by the TOH tag (which might be removed as its pretty useless after the design ambiance is installed)

Yes, the NFC was left on by a bug, and it led to a huge battery drain (though at the time it was on regardless of display being on/off). But yeah, using the reader for other-than-TOH NFC tags should be doable (via software). With a on/off switch of cource, so it wont drain all the battery.

What NFC IC (transciever/read) chip would be compatible and cost-effective with Jolla I2C ? I'm planning to try make a NFC TOH reader/writer.
