I normally connect my phone to the charger to recharge overnight. It's usually up to 100% by the end of the evening, but since the update to 1.1.9.28 the phone's been down to ~30% battery in the morning despite being connected to the charger. This didn't happen before the latest update.

Is there some scheduled overnight process that could be disabling USB charging overnight?

I've never noticed this behaviour in my Jolla (The First One).

When you plug it in, does it start to charge (i.e. do you hear the sound and see the charge icon?)? Perhaps the socket you plug it into at night is disconnected?

I use a usb-charger that came with a plantronics headset for overnight charging. Sometimes I get the notification that charging didn't work, so I have to check that the Jolla is really charging. I guess some chargers don't play so good with it. Or it may be because I set the usb mode to "developer mode"

@bilgy_no1 - Yes, it does charge initially. Normally it's fully charged when I go to bed. The socket isn't disconnected by anything. This has been happening since the day I upgraded. Could be the charger is starting to fail somehow, though that'd be a bit of a co-incidence. I'll try with another charger and see if the problem persists.

What probably happened: Due to whatever reason, the phone (or at least mine) fails to charge when I first plug in the USB and then give voltage on it. If I plug in an USB plug that has already voltage on it, everything's fine.

Maybe - as bligy_no1 said, your socket lost power over night. When power came back, the phone refused to charge because of the upper mentioned reason.

Or do I get your question wrong: You're saying the battery drains from 100% at the end of the evening to 30% in morning with charger plugged in?

Try rebooting the device. It could be it's a problem with the battery calibration. Crossing my fingers that it would work :)
