Since the latest update (1.1.9.28) the tethering tool has two flaws, both of which are rather annoying:

  • devices can't connect even though ssid/password are entered correctly (results in random error messages)
  • the phone reboots after I stop the tethering service -

I use this feature regularly on trips, would be nice if it could be fixed as soon as possible.

I had some problems with tethering also. Right after update tethering settings had changed my SSID name but kept my password setting. I was also just travelling in Italy and I had two reboots like you mention after stopping tethering. Its not everytime it happens though.

I've always had problems with WLAN tethering as far as I can remember. Not unique to 1.1.9.

E.g. WLAN gets enabled for some reason after turning WLAN tethering off. Not being able to start WLAN tethering, instead WLAN gets turned on. Issues connecting devices etc.

The feature has always been unstable for me.

Edit: I just experienced this for the first time. Stopped tethering and Sailfish became unresponsive for a while and thet rebooted itself. This is new for me in 1.1.9.28.

They really gotta fix tethering once and for all.
