[feature request] SIM Hot-Swap

I just discovered that SF 1.1.9.28 asked me to restart the device after I swapped the SIM. As far as I can remember, this was not necessary in previous versions. Endless restarts are actually the domain of M$, at least I thought this. While this is not really a big issue, as frequent traveller I always appriciated that SIM swaps have been easy with N9 und Jolla, contrary to my Lumia. Is there a reason for the system restart? Can we return to the previous behaviour?
I support that. But AFAIR SFOS has never been too happy about the SIM swaps of mine.

slehtonen85 ( 2015-10-04 19:39:51 +0300 )editAlthough it was never supported officially, I can hot-swap my sim any time, you just need to tap outside the reboot notice and you get a PIN input screen. No warranties though, do at your own risk!
chemist ( 2015-10-04 21:12:08 +0300 )editI am quite sure that this warning / notice was not present in previous releases (not sure since when we have it). The warning says "SIM card MIGHT not work reliably". There is a reset pin on the SIM contact pads. It should be possible to initialize the SIM after a hot-swap successfully. Maybe there is really no problem? Then this notice should be removed.
Stefanix ( 2015-10-04 22:50:17 +0300 )editAt some point this has changed so that now (SFOS 3.1.0.11 Seitseminen) when a simcard is removed and reinsterted it will no longer be activated until reboot.
The device shows warning and suggests reboot but it can be ignored. However the network indicator stays grayed out and I found no way to make networking start again.
I tried the obvious things; activate/deactivate airplane mode, systemctl restart ofono.service, kill -HUP rild... nothing makes it start again.
