1.1.9: Lock screen not immediately visible upon button press [duplicate]

Before 1.1.9, in locked mode and with display off, I believe that upon pressing the power button would immediately show the lock screen with the information like time and battery status.

Since 1.1.9, I have to wait for some arrows to slide in from the side (which are really pointless once you know how to use the phone), then wait for the clock to slide from the top. The animations are nice to watch once or twice, but in practice, these greatly increase the time until you see, well, the time.

I suggest to disable this animation altogether, for a snappier experience.

fully agree on this one. also top sliding menu item selection is now slower because of added animation.
