Unless something eludes me, there is no way to mark multiple messages as read at once.

If I go into selection mode, select a bunch of e-mails, and then hold select down on the last of them to open the menu and click "mark as read", it will only mark the last mail of the selected ones as read, instead of all of the highlighted ones as one might expect/hope. It'd be great if this feature could be changed so that you'd have the ability to mark several messages read at once.

Also kind of related, it'd be nice to have some form of "shift-select" ability, as in "select every message between the first and second selection" - maybe adding it as an option to the same menu that opens when you hold the selection down for a few seconds?

Lastly, some form of basic search function would be great. Doesn't even need to be anything fancy, even a basic inbox filter that would list all messages with the specified keyword in sender/subject field would be awesome. Think of the people/phonebook app and how it quick-filters contacts by the alphabet letters.

Other than these issues, I quite like the e-mail app as-is currently.

Also nice to add Mark Unread feature and swipe function to read next email, not Email info. Last "email info" must be available from pull menu and show full headers.

Hi. I agree. Just started to use phone in work environment and search is missing from Mail.

I can't believe this post doesn't have more votes! Being able to search emails is very important I'd say and shouldn't be that time-consuming to implement.

These should probably be split up into two separate issues. I haven't really had a need for multi-email 'mark as read', but searching is definitely something that should be in there.

+1 for search function. Multiple selection is less important to me.

I defo agree with the need for search functions by sender, date, search word... At least by sender. Would ease up the use of the device a lot!
