Jolla account deleted but email id is still stored so can't create new account.

I created an account with Jolla some time back and didn't use it much. Then I recently noticed that I had accidentally created the username with a typo. So I deleted that account hoping to create a new one with the correct username. After deleting the account when I tried to create a new account with the same email-id, it shows that the email is already used. Now I can't create a new account nor can I log in to my previous account as I have deleted it.

Any ideas on what I should do?

it may be that you just need to reboot and try again, just a thought.

Did you just remove the account from the device or actually let Jolla delete the account on their servers?

As the same account might be used on several Sailfish OS devices at some point, I think it might be a good idea to add a confirmation to the device UI, for example as:

"Do you want to delete the account from this device only, or from the device and the server? Warning: If you delete the account also from the server, you can't use it for signing in on any of your devices"
