Hello,

thank you for your message.

Please try the following:

1) Switch your ambience to something not related to a TOH attached to your device. 2) Remove the TOH 3) Switch off your device, and then start it up again 4) Once your device has started up, attach your "First One" cover to your device

Do you get a reaction to the cover (ie. does the ambience change)? Do you see the TOH ID in Settings > System > About product (it's shown after the text "The Other Half")?

If you reproduce these steps with the TOHKBD, are the results any different?

Sincerely, Jolla Customer Care

Hello,

thank you for these clarifications.

It seems like you are getting some intermittent functionality. The fact that the TOH ID is always visible would point to the hardware on your Jolla being OK and e.g. not needing repair.

When you attach TOHs, please try to ensure you are in a good internet connection. Attaching a TOH also makes the device connect to the Jolla Store to check if the Ambience package could be downloaded. As the TOHKBD package is likely bigger than your usual ambience, it could take a considerable amount of time for it to begin downloading to your device.

Please try attaching your TOHKBD when the device is using mobile data and then again WLAN.

Have you contacted the TOHKBD developers about this issue?

Sincerely, Jolla Customer Care

Thanks, but I think that I will contact TOHKBD developers once more since your suggestions did not help.

You could continue on this topic in one of the earlier tohkbd-not-working threads. Or if you really have to make a new thread you should put a little more effort into making a point, rather than just copy and paste a long email discussion.

Just in case; for me, the TOHKBD didn't connect well until I pushed the snap-cover part of the keyboard (not the detachable keyboard part) upwards several times because the printed plastic is softer than the moulded hard stuff so my TOHKBD easily "snaps off" slightly from the upper edges when the keyboard connectors press it. Hard to explain, but pushing the TOHKBD cover HARD upwards against the Jolla-phone part helped...

One of my TOHKBD is like this. Install manually and it should work. Look for instructions here https://github.com/kimmoli/tohkbd2#installing-through-mer-obs-repo or check the FAQ. You can also contact FunkyOtherHalf for a permanent fix. As care says it does look like your phone is OK.
