Hello,

Sending an email is done using pulley menu, and text messages are sent using a "send" button on the side.

I am thinking that the apps throughout the OS could be harmonize, and thus text messages sent using the pulley menu. This would have the advantage of avoiding having text messages sent accidentally (happens when one scrolls in the text to modify something). It would also make the interface more coherent.

Regards.

Guillaume

Good idea!, I have accidentally hit send too many times when using SMS. As you say, this would also keep a similar theme to the way we send email.

This would mean that:

  1. The app should ave a pulley menu available when you are at the end of the messages list, which would take up screen estate.
  2. You would need to scroll up to reach the pulley menu (current situation).

So some tweaking is needed to reach for a good flow of usability.

There could be a pulley at the bottom too, like in the mail app.

Personally I like the idea of using remorse timer for this. Messages app works with both SMS and IM, pulling the pulley for each IM is a pain – I think.

@Guillaume Lanternier the bottom pulley could work, though. It would be easily reachable and prevent from sending a message accidentally.

@AliNa, I personally don't like the remorse timer in some places, it's ok when there's a possibility of damage, e.g. deleting something etc., but sending a message doesn't need a remorse timer, it would just slow things down unnecessarily. And isn't that what we don't want, to have a slow and cumbersome UI? So for me the remorse timer is a no-go..
