Tablet charger

Read in the blog that charger will not be in the delivery? Is that true? Since I haven't got any Jolla device and the tablet will be my first device and don't know what to do. I pre-ordered the tablet from the "limited batch" and I guess I won't get any charger when the tablet arrives.

So, how do I order a charger?

Thanks

Go to your local store and buy one.

A USB cable is included. You most likely have a leftover USB power adapter from some other device. If that's not the case then you can charge it through your computer for the time being, and buy yourself one from a local electronics store.

It's a common trend these day to avoid producing and shipping unecessary electronics with every device since most users have already surplus of chargers. Also, USB-charging ports are becoming a standard feature in e.g. cars.

It's also less trouble for the manufacturer since there's no need to coordinate different power plugs to different parts of the world.

@Okw in that case I'm happy with the USB cable.

@deFender note that you most probably would want to get a 2A charger. Most phone chargers are only 1A, so if you use them on the tablet it will charge more slowly (but it will still work!).

If you have a tablet from another manufacturer, probably its charger will work fine.

Later while completing your order you will be able to buy a charger directly in the shop. They mentioned this also on their blog. :)

@Alex yes, I saw that, but I am confused because I think my pre-order already was complete. But I'll have a look.

@g7 not while you are using it!

@deFender I guessed you already completed your order, so I did not comment earlier. In the current state the device will only charge with chargers supplying enough power, eg the mentioned >=2A, while in use the tablet consumes some around 1.1-1.4A. Idle with display off it is also pretty high, so even a 1A charger does not charge very well when the display is off (will probably take 4-6h to charge) - I only recognized this from using bad USB cables on a 2.1A charger. If you can get your hands on one I'd suggest to get an Anker 2-port 20W. All this ma change at a later point but with 1.1.9 jolla-tablet is pretty power-hungry.
