Beside https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201440787#2 I haven't found anything on the web. Is there a more detailed listing, what exactly an Android developer should be aware of, so her/his own written Android applications will run on the Jolla as well?

Google Play APIs

Are unavailable on SailfishOS, so don't use them.

Edge Swipes

Left and Right edge swipes are used for Peeking/Minimising an App and should not be used for in-app menus or navigation.

Contacts Access

Access to device contacts may be denied, so try and handle that case in your App.

Aside from those things, generally speaking it should work just like it does on Android.

Anyone else feel free to add to this post as a reference for Android developers looking at porting their apps to SailfishOS

Yeah it should but it is far from that!

For example stuff that requires you to change settings in the Android Settings app e.g. accessibility functionality is completely unavailable and there are more holes like that. A list on the deviations from stock Android would be greatly appreciated even for us users to know which apps can work, and which cannot.
