Hi, I have a problem with the same notifications reappearing after clearing them from the notifications screen. It doesn't matter how many times I clean them - after a couple of minutes they will reappear. Notifications causing the problem are generated by the Download Manager and concern some mp3s that I have downloaded. Anyone had a similar problem or can provide a solution?

Install an Android home screen, such as Launcher Pro 2, from Aptoide. Anything similar will do. Find the Downloads or Download Manager app and delete all the downloads from there. The notifications will stop reappearing now. Or, find a way to start the Downloads app directly from Sailfish, and do the same.

This seems like a good solution but I have already fixed the problem. Anyway thank you and I will remeber your advice because it seems like an easy way to get rid of those stuck notifications.

I can confirm that this is working for clearing stuck notifications caused by failed downloads on the Android layer.

instead of clearing notification, click on it. It should not appear again.

That applies for most of the notifications but sometimes they get stuck and reappear after restarting Alien Dalvik. Especially frequent with failed downloads and such.

I will keep that in mind next time I face this problem.

If you don't want to use an application with too much permissions, I found another way :

  1. with F-Droid, install "Activity Launcher", it only request to see the running applications
  2. launch it
  3. in the top select menu, select "All activities" (might slightly differ, I don't have an English version)
  4. find "Downloads" (or something similar), tap it : you should see all your downloads made with androids apps (so much for you privacy...that list and a way to clear it should be more accessible in sailfish...)
  5. clear the stuck downloads by ticking them and tap on the trash bin icon (top right corner)

BEWARE : it's safe to delete entries of files not presents any more in your android download folder, but if the files are still in the android download folder, they'll be deleted when you delete the download entry
