I have lots of contacts which have now uneditable IM Account entries from eg. jabber - and needed to link them again having them doubled on all contacts with jabber entries.

Contacts have been synced from N9

PS: includes all my XMPP entries [facebook, google-talk, jabber]

I think yours is a duplicate of this one: https://together.jolla.com/question/6648/auto-merge-online-contacts-eg-from-gtalks-xmpp-to-imported-vcfs/

Nope, I do not need auto-linking I need to have the dupes disappear - I have proper entries in my N9, when exported they all have a proper flag which defines what they are! For the entry you refer to... auto-linking contacts because they match on some entry goes horribly wrong on android!

well... that's exactly what I meant in my question - have a proper vcf output, don't want the jabber/etc. fields to be ignored. Internally, Sailfish would need to still auto merge/auto link whatever comes from the jabber server, hence the title. EDIT: added the use case to my post fwiw.

@gabriel then rephrase please. And it is still a bug to have uneditable entries unrecognized by Accounts.

There is a change coming to suppress the display of inactive IM addresses, when they are duplicates of IM addresses received from the roster of configured IM accounts. Will that solve your problem? Or have I misinterpreted your issue?

This change was released in 1.0.3.8. If a contact contains an IM address that is not linked to an IM account, it will not be offered as a option in address selection.
