Suggested glance/lockscreen behaviour

Even in 2.0.0.10 the glance screen is relatively unused, and the transition from glance to lock screen is still painstakingly slow as no input is accepted until the hint arrows show up. The transition also looks a bit abrupt.
My suggestion for this is to make the glance screen just a different "mode" for the lock screen with the following differences: - no background image - items faded to a dim ambience color (as done now with the few elements that are visible on glance screen)
When doubletapping or otherwise waking up the device:
immediately enable input
fade in bg, maybe 0.5-1.0s, while at the same time
fade items to their normal colors, maybe about 0.5s
