Hello, do the the impossibility of the sailfish mail program to save entered E-Mail adresses i need an alternative. Is there any working (working interface to inbuilt apps) out there?

I'd also add very poor attachment handling, no possibility to mark as read/flag messages in message view and chaotic folder sorting to the list of "lacking important features".

Jolla developers, there is a possible way out of the dilemma with the mail-client: why not contact the developer of K9 for android and pay him to port his mail-client to sailfish os and offer it as a new native email-client on the jolla app-store?

k-9 is pretty nice, but Android. I used to use this app on my Android phones but do not have any experience with running it on Jolla (I'm one of the few that are good with the native client, but you're definitely right in that it's almost unbearable with all its limitations).

Here's the play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fsck.k9 (for use with http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/)

And here's the source (K9 is FOSS/APL 2.0): https://github.com/k9mail/k-9

K-9 is nice indeed, but the native high-quality email client is needed. While I would love to see K9 ported to Sailfish, there are alternatives. Maybe development of Ubuntu Touch Dekko ( https://launchpad.net/dekko ) could be joined and done to ensure compatibility with Sailfish? Alternatively, Trojita ( http://trojita.flaska.net/ ), base of Dekko, could be considered. While possibly Dekko is not as good as Sailfish email app, with the pace of its development I would expect that it will bypass Saifish quite soon. Unfortunately, Dekko/Trojita is IMAP only though.

Android probably. Native no. BTW i think Mutt -command line email- is available for SFOS but you must be a bit special to want to use something like that.

Hi. I could handle "bit special sw on the shell". But i dont want it, it should be normal comfortable. Simply like iOS handles it since years.

You'll have to wait then. Until someone writes a new mail client for SFOS or the development on the official client gets more active -the guy who was in charge of it moved to another company and no idea who took over it-.

"no idea who took over it" IMHO nobody. Long term point out that SFOS native email client is one of the worst client ever (for mobile phones). Although the deficiencies and problems are know, no one does anything. Over the last month we have had only one functionality improvement (reply-all). But maybe we will be informed that it is a third party programm and Jolla can do nothing (as File Browser).

There is akways thepossibikity to use webmail through the browser as long as the webmaul interface is ok. I do thst. For quick check I use the native. Of course it woukd be nice with functionality like thunderbird but fir me webmail is ok.
