Hi there!

In the past I put some ring tones on my phone using the information given in this post into /usr/share/sounds/jolla-ringtones/stereo .

After update to Saimaa (2.0.0.10) the mp3 I put there do not appear in UI any more. All my ambiences are messed up because of this (meaning they lost all their 'actions' related to my own sounds). Is somebody seeing the same behaviour?

I noticed a file "stereo.index" plain text file in the parent folder. Was it there before? Its contents are the list of ring tones I see in the UI. Has anybody tinkered with this file yet? Is there a clean way to make my files their way into the UI? Do you think this is a bug?

Thanks for suggestions!

The release notes for 2.0.0.10 suggests that any (TOH) ambience sounds are now freely available to set for any ambience. Where as before, I manually copied all my TOH sounds to /usr/share/sounds/jolla-ringtones/stereo so that I could choose any TOH sound for any ambience. I personally don't see this as a bug. You could always edit the index file by adding the details for the particular MP3 you wish to use, then add the MP3 to the stereo folder and see if it stays or goes.

Same here... It automatically see all ringtones from all ambiences, but if you put some custom ringtones to this folder, phone can't see them... Probably we can edit "stereo.index" file to see all custom ringtones...

@schturman@Yo - I just edited the stereo.index file and added the appropriate mp3 to stereo folder - works a treat!. I can now select my .mp3 from either Ambiences or Sounds and feedback. I guess this will be over written by the next OS update, so a copy made and stashed safely might be a good move.

Hi
I created a simple script that will recreate the stereo.index file with all your custom sounds. Also will create backup of stereo.index file.
Reboot not needed, just reopen settings app and you will see all you sounds.
