Apps should be able to register own quick actions

It should be possible for apps to register quick actions with SailfishOS, so that app developers can provide (optional) shortcuts to specific features of their app, e.g. "Add a new task" (e.g. to an app like TaskList). This would improve app user experience a lot.

It is possible! Configuration of quick actions is found
in /usr/share/lipstick/quickactions
and @Andy Bransonhas already made a prototype for a calendar quick action look-a-here: https://together.jolla.com/question/117024/which-additional-quick-actions-would-you-like-to-have/?comment=121018#comment-121018

We're at it!

Great, Sailfish OS is technically super and it looks good, too. Almost resembles my girl friend.

Is it actually possible for an app (not the user) to add a file in there?

You would need to get root privileges for the app to do so.

Ah okay, thanks for the information - very interesting. Not exactly what I am aiming for, though. Providing regular apps with the ability to offer quick actions would boost user experience for apps.

I have already thought of developing some sort of tool to create quick actions. You could make use of sudo, in which respect I just looked up this post: https://together.jolla.com/question/44012/how-to-use-sudo/
OTOH this seems like a perfect job for patch manager.
