Due to recent abuse of new users by posting hundreds of questions in short time - should there be a limit of allowed posts in single day? It can also be coupled with karma so a known valuable member of the community would be allowed to post more. I dont see real reason what for new user would genuinely have 50 new questions in single day.

The truth is that if we limit the number of posts per day per user the spammers will just create more and more new accounts. Also technically it is much more easier to cleanup posts made by one or two users. ;)
Also the spammers seem to be adapting into changes made into account creating process very quickly or even creating accounts manually.

We have now deployed post rate limits for users without enough karma.
At the moment the implementation is till a bit rough on the edges. For example it does not tell the user if they are allowed to post or not before they try to submit a post. And in case the post is rejected based on the rate limit, the user will lose what ever they had written in the post.
But we'll keep improving this, and also exploring other ways of spam prevention.

Really good point. I myself have never posted more than two questions on one day. So having only one post per day for say, karma<30 would be fair enough imo.
I could also think of spam officer roles among a bunch of trustworthy users. So perhaps posts could be flagged automatically as possible spam by the server, and those spam officers might just delete them. But I do not know if this is achievable easily.

I think you should and should combine it with something like CAPTCHA. (Even so the spam flagging seems to work quite effectively and so it is easy to filter the spam out by tag.)
I hate CAPTCHAs, especially these days usually this means you have to let Google know what you do (again). But it would solve the problem of automatic account registration, that @tigeli pointed out. So for the greater good ...
