Strange but I didn't find any posts where this has been explicitly requested yet.

I know one of 'the things' for ambience is that it picks its colour from the picture selected. But still, why not let the user pick a favourite colour? This post discusses on selecting the colour by tweaking config by hand, but why not make it easy enough - an alternative for automatic selection?

Background: This post explains colour selection a bit. At least for me the algorithm has failed several times resulting in totally unaesthetic and ugly ambience colours. Maybe, fiddling with colour channels could help but it'd be not a real solution in the large scale - to photoshop every few pictures to get the desired result.

EDIT 21-01-15: Announced as an upcoming feature here

I agree. I think the best thing would be that the OS suggests a colour (or a few colours) based on the image and then, if you want, you can choose "other" and pick the colour yourself.

Also agree. I usually end up having a completely black background on my phones, so I would like to pick myself what kind of color I want to go with that :)

I also find it that sometimes the automatic ambience color picker does not give the color that could suit the ambience best, so along with automatic color picker, a manual option would be great too.
