I just upgraded to 2.0.0.10. The Sailfish browser does not work for me in this version, at all.

When I try to load any website or even just about:, the browser's status bar indicates that something is being loaded, but the actual content area always remains completely white. After a while, the status bar also disappears, and I am left with a completely blank white screen. After waiting some more, a system "Browser is not responding, please wait / close" dialog shows up. Waiting does not help. Indeed, watching top in a terminal window, at this phase I see that the browser uses close to 100% CPU and allocates more and more memory (on the order of 1% of additional system memory every five seconds).

This happens both in private and normal browsing modes. It happens for jolla.com, other websites I tried (even ones with very little simple HTML and no fancy CSS or JavaScript) and, as I said, even for about:.

I tried rebooting the phone, but it didn't help (of course). Does anyone else have this problem? It is quite severe to me. [Edit: I only used the Sailfish browser for opening URLs from Tweetian. I have now set up Webcat to do that. So in that sense the problem is side-stepped.]

It might be that the installation did not successfully completed to 2.0.0.10. I had to manually update from terminal (developer-mode).

That's possible. I'm willing to try; where can I find a guide for how to do the update from the terminal?

I have the same problem in Sailfish OS 2.0.5.6 Since a few days ago my browser does not load any website. It stays completly white and Loading ("Wird geladen"). I realized that the private mode works, only the normal mode does not respond. I tried [root@Jolla nemo]# pkcon install sailfish-browser-settings [root@Jolla nemo]# pkcon install sailfish-browser but nothing changes. Web Pirate works fine.

Has anybody any idea what to do?

The hint by pfbach helped eventually: I did pkcon install sailfish-browser and pkcon update in the terminal, then rebooted. That seemed to really get me to version 2.0.0.10, and the browser works again. So, yes, the system updater had apparently stopped in mid-update.

This happened to me: system told 'Update failed' but current Sailfish OS was changed to 2.0.0.10. I updated sailfish-browser-settings and sailfish-browser with commands below: [root@Jolla nemo]# pkcon install sailfish-browser-settings [root@Jolla nemo]# pkcon install sailfish-browser

But after reboot browser doesn't work but the same problem continues...maybe there is stilll something I need to update ?
