I'm on Sailfish OS 1.1.9.28, with developer mode activated (but no changes to the system).

Yesterday (3.11.2015) my phone showed a new available update to 1.1.9.30. After downloading, I connected it to a charger (and there were 83% battery power left), went to the update page in the settings and tried to start the update.

I selected "install" from the menu, and the screen dimmed to black immediately. The backlight stayed on, though. After about half a minute, the backlight went off, too. The status LED kept flashing white. After a while, I tried to (shortly) press the power button, this only toggled the status LED off completely (and on to flashing white again on another press...).

I let it sit over the night, same thing in the morning. I switched it off by pressing the power key a few seconds and afterward was able to boot it normally. Apparently no damage or changes to the system.

I tried the update again twice with developer mode switched on and off, same problem.

Edit: I tried to do a factory reset. Afterwards I downloaded the update again into my fresh system - same problem!

Edit: I retrieved the systemupdate.log from my Jolla, please take a look at it here: http://pastebin.com/6c5PGqnA

I guess the interesting parts are before line 138: "Unit osupdate.service entered failed state."

The last relevant message is in line 279, then there's a few minutes break until my powering the phone off is noted in the log.

Any idea what's wrong, and how to do the update? Does anyone else have this problem? Help please!

Thanks!

Did one last try for today, and it just worked this time. The only difference this time was that I opted to make a backup of my data, which I hadn't done before. Don't know if that was it...

Just keep trying if this hits you, I guess. Or maybe someone can give an insight based on the log, maybe?
