I've tried installing Kodi on the tablet, both from aptoid store and using apk from official site. When trying to run the x86 version I get an error message on the splash screen saying something about "wrong architecture (arm vs. x86)" and then exits. But when trying to run the arm version, the splash appears and the progress bar updates to completion and then it crashes.

So: Is there something in alien-dalvik which announces what processor architecture the underlaying device is using? In that case, does it announce wrong architecture on the tablet? Or is it just the Kodi people that does something strange in their app?

Well, I really hope that aliendalvik reports x86 architecture...

Kodi does use Android hardware extensively (exhaustively even), so that there may be compatibility issues. How does other Android apps work? As I'm still expecting my Jolla Tablet like christmas (it should arrive at december, ha) I can't test things out yet...

You could try and gather debug logs, there are lots of questions that tell you how to do that. Or you could try Kodi forum, too, as aliendalvik may be used elsewhere, too...

Is there any news of somebody solving this issue? Editing the title so it bumps. Also VLC got the same problem, giving the same Error posted here: https://together.jolla.com/question/132934/answered-jolla-tablet-aliendalvik-fake-or-not/ With "Real Racing 3" it is a different symptom. Google Play Service gives an error on startup of the game, but it does run. I believe the performance is not what one would expect from quadcore and 2GB HW running the game.

Same behavior here... On many apps it show notification about wrong architecture, some apps crashed immediately, some continue to work... Probably problem with Aliendalvik...
* For firefox - use Old version from Aptoide store (Jolla store)
* For Android Kodi successful installation - https://together.jolla.com/question/132791/how-to-install-kodi-app-on-your-jolla-tablet/
* For Sailfish Kodi - http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=96773&highlight=kodi
