I (and others) have previously requested that Jolla implement distribution groups for SMS - so far with no luck.

However, it was possible to emulate distribution groups by initially creating a single multiple recipient SMS and sending it. Subsequently one could select that SMS and reply to it, which had the effect of working as a distribution group.

SMS responses would then come in individually from recipients.

But with the release of 2.0.0.10 the behaviour has changed, now responses come in under the group SMS, so you can no longer tell which individual has replied.

Can we please have the old behaviour back, as the new behaviour does not make any sense?

Edit: Actually, it is worse than that. All SMS from people who happen to be recipients in the multi-recipient SMS now turn up in the multi-recipient message stream. That's a bug (and a regression, I believe).

Yes, please! And for MMS too!

Another side effect of that bug : the SMS status is not updated when sending a message to someone part of a multi-recipient message, even if the message is sent to him alone, and even if the multi-recipient message has been deleted (status stuck at "sending...", so no confirmation that the message has been correctly sent or received)

Confirmed here :-( This is pretty annoying as we don't know if there is a real network problem or just a display issue. Which lead to some undelivered messages.

This behavior is driving me crazy!

Can we please add a "mark as not part of thread" or something similar which will cause the sms to be moved back to its' contact.

BTW I believe the behavior was already in Sailfish longer just that it wasn't persistent, ie. after you sent a personal sms or something similar it would resolve itself, now it is persistent which makes me curse the moment I tried to save a half a minute by sending a message to 2 people at the same time...

I guess, given the situation Jolla is now in, that we may never see this fixed ...

First part is duplicate of https://together.jolla.com/question/2837/groups-for-contacts/

It isn't a duplicate. It is stating the necessary background for the actual issue at hand, which is about is the regression that has now been introduced in handling SMS to multiple recipients (and thus to the workaround for the missing functionality)

Which part of "First part" didn't you understand? You are buggering about group sms, which is a feature that comes with actual groups and then you talk about the regression of sms with multiple recipients (which could be seen as a duplicate of the multi-sms bug also filed soem while back)
