Allow subscription of many folders in an account for notification so you will not miss incoming mails.

This would be great :). Many providers are doing sieve or other techniques to filter emails at server level. And i don't see new mails until I manually update the folders.

@Sailor I need it exactly for this use case, I am prefiltering messages at the server side.

I quite like the approach the N9 had in this regard, having a list of "favourite" (subscribed) folders on the main page of the mail app, with a new mail count in the list next to the folders. These folders would also get notification for new mails.

I also have server side filtering using sieve on my server, so I don't get notified for most of the mails I get, because the server sorts them into folders right away.

I organize my email exactly like that -- using rules to move certain emails to different folders. Checking for those folders manually is extremely cumbersome. The N9 way would be perfect for me.

wanted to add another annoyance.

i have multiple folder in my Exchange mailbox. my default folder where i store all my emails (via a rule running on Exchange) is a subfolder under "Inbox". let's call it "To Me".

each time i launch the mail application, it defaults to the "Inbox" and i have to switch to the "To Me" folder. annoying.

can the email app please remember the last viewed folder? and if this folder is not found then fallback to "Inbox"?

also, can the email synch be modified to select only certain folders for synchronization? kinda like what did Mfe app did for the n900. this will save synch time and valuable data cost.

for each folder, please allow more than one month of emails to synch. i have emails older than a month and i am unable to pull them down to the device.

exchangeexchange

@droll - Can you please create a separated feature request for that ? Is better for visibility and also not very related to this, since exchange is different from other accounts(time period based), mention also what options you would like to have (2 months, 6 months,...). Thanks.

If you want to hang on to Sailfish enthousiasts who also want to keep their jobs, you should really address this issue of not syncing any IMAP folder but Inbox. Bosses don't accept the excuse that Sailfish only syncs the Inbox, for being late on reacting to emails the corporation dumps in other folders. They say: Then revert to Android, if you want to stay employed.

Correct. Sailfish native apps are a competitive disadvantage for the user. It's not only Email, same could be said for massively outdated Browser. Unfortunate, but true.

Jolla don't care about unimportant apps like email or calender. They only try to get the aliendalvik running perfect. I really don't understand how you can leave your users with such clients.
