Update download interrupted; Now missing from System Settings

Sailfish OS (v1.1.9.30) notified me today that the 2.0.0.10 update was available, so I went through the backup process and started downloading. The WiFi unfortunately got disrupted, and because the download didn't appear to continue (lack of percentage indicator complicated that assessment!) I closed the Settings app & rebooted the phone.

Now, tapping on the update notification only yields a few seconds of System Settings preview with spinner, which closes. Tapping the notification again doesn't do anything, and there is no Update item in the Settings any more either.

Thanks for any hints what could be wrong here, and how it could be remedied.

PS: Some apparently correlated, but possible not causatively related observations:

  • System settings has a !!sync_and_backup subheading with the "Bluetooth sync" entry, but not the actual Backup app
  • I uninstalled openssh through the Warehouse app just before the update attempt; reinstalled it afterwards, but no change of the symptoms
  • the Notes app has disappeared completely

Have a look at the instruction of Zendesk here. Beside hints to save logs there are also hints how to finish interrupted or failed update if phone is bootable and don't show the notification.

ssu release 2.0.0.10

version --dup

should do it, but first read the meantioned link carefully.

Thanks for the pointers! At 2.1.1 however, it fails due to this problem apparently.

Recovery via the Mac fails as well, probably because HoRNDIS hasn't been updated yet for El Capitan. Telnet reports "connect to address 10.42.66.66: Operation timed out" and "Unable to connect to remote host" while the Jolla is the same WiFi as the Mac & pings are working.

And installing the Warehouse .rpm in order to try a Terminal app from there fails as well with xdg-open error (exit code: 5).

Maybe you can try to delete store cache, this option is found in settings --> utilities something like delee store-cache or so (don't know proper translation)

If that doesn't work I would contact zendesk in order to get further advices

It's called "Rebuild app registry", but it didn't help. I got the recovery mode & Telnet working from a Win-PC, but because developer mode wasn't enabled, the shell commands yielded only "devel-su: not found" & "ssu: not found". Will contact support. Thanks for your advice so far :-)
