Some covers of apps will update regularly . However ,after the apps are killed , they won't update anymore. Even though users may know that a died cover has no any cover action. But the details on the cover are out of date and misleading . In my opinion a dead cover should only show an icon and the app name. In this way, it's more unlikely to confuse users. Sorry for my poor English . I hope you can understand what I mean.

In my opinion we should not have dead covers at all. Very misleading now you really can't tell wheter the app is running or not.

@rooster13 In fact an inactive cover doesn't show cover action indicators . But I think it's not a good design .

@fishegg, exactly. That is the main issue with covers not having any actions. No way to tell wheter it was killed or not.
